Legal Question in Criminal Law in Illinois

Accused of Theft

I worked in Il and I live in Wi.My former employer of a grocery store is accusing myself and for others of theft. The detective working on the case only called me once. One of the others went to the detective and confessed and said she made a deal. Now 2 of the others(they live in Il) have been issued subpoena's to appear before the Grand jury. What will happen now?Can I still be subpoenaed or charged? One of the others was issued a small claims thing for $5000.00,but not subpoenaed.I have heard nothing for myself so far.

Re: Accused of Theft

Yes, you can still be subpoenaed if the State so chooses. A confession by another does not guarantee you are not charged. It may help your case if it goes to trial.
