Legal Question in Criminal Law in Illinois
I have an active bench warrant fro a battery charge from lake county illinois from 1996. I have had police interaction and have never been arrested for this. I'm trying to take care of this now. I know the how much I have to pay and I'm sending a cashiers check for the fines and restitution. I'm just trying it figure out why I have never been arrested for this. I don't live in Illinois anymore either

You won't be able to resolve this by mailing in a check. You need to have the warrant quashed and recalled by the issuing judge. It likely is a misdemeanor warrant which is why it hasn't been executed out of state. You will need an attorney to correctly resolve this and make sure the warrant is resolved.
