What can the affects be to the section code and the charge not matching on an indictment?

The effect of the section code and the charge not matching on the indictment can result in the dismissal of the charges should the case proceed to trial and the prosecutors miss the error. However, the State's Attorney has the opportunity to amend the complaint/indictment against you up until the trial. If they miss the error and your trial starts, the error is grounds for dismissal but a simple amendment to the complaint/indictment will fix that error.
