Legal Question in Criminal Law in Illinois

Aggravated Unlawful Use of a weapon

On February 9, 2007, I was pulled over in Missouri and then told to follow a policeman back to Columbia, Illinois, due to two kids trying to run me off the road and then claiming I pulled a weapon on them. When pulled over the St. Louis police seized and subsequently turned over, to Columbia Police, my fully loaded weapon, which was in my glove box. I gave the Columbia Police a written and taped statement. never admitting to any such a crime. There were two people in the vehicle that tried to run me off the road and the DA from Monroe County decided he wanted to prefer charges on me for Aggravated unlawful use of a weapon. I have never been convicted of a crime. Please help me by telling me what I am facing and what I need to do to get this thrown out of court.

Re: Aggravated Unlawful Use of a weapon

You must realize that you are facing serious charges which will have a very detrimental effect if you take a conviction. I have handled cases involving exactly the same circumstances on many occasions. You need to hire an attorney. If you do not already have an attorney or know one who you would like to hire, you may call me at the office for a free telphone consultation.
