Legal Question in Criminal Law in Illinois
Aperspective job candidate's background check revealed 1 coint termed felony-misdemeanor. it was explained as a warrent was issued for his arrest after failing to appear in court. Whenstopped again- by the police-he was arrested and paid bail. He then went to court in another county than he was arrested for the warrant charge and the bail was used as the fees for the warrant and speeding ticket. The candidate says that he has never been arrested before, so my question is when does a motor vehicle violation become a felony-misdemeanor?

I suggest that you hire counsel to do a background check to determine exactly what the situation is. There are a number of circumstances when a traffic matter can be a misdemeanor.
