Re: Assault
The statute of limitations for assault in Illinois is 18 mos. That's to bring charges against you. However, if the charges have already been filed, there is no statute of limitations. If you do not show up in court a warrant will be issued for your arrest. An assault is a Class A misdomeanor, which is punisible by a sentence of up to 364 days in jail, and up to a $2,500.00,fine, or a combination of both. Please call for a free consultation.
