Legal Question in Criminal Law in Illinois
I would like to know if there are any attorneys other than appellate defenders who would work on a murder conviction appeal pro-bono in Illinois

I don't do criminal law (trial or appellate) work. But I think you might want to try starting with a legal clinic (some are just out there, and some are affiliated with law schools), charitable-legal organization, or get a lawyer referral from the bar association (Illinois State or more local) in your area.
