Legal Question in Criminal Law in Illinois
Bail Money
I posted bail for someone can I get my money back? I did read somewhere that you could get your money back and the person would have to go to jail until their court date? I have now decided that I don't want to post the bail money anymore.

Re: Bail Money
Unfortunately, it isn't up to you whether the other person decides to surrender and you get your bail money back. In many counties, the courts use the bail money to satisfy any fines and court costs incurred. You could end up losing it all.
