Legal Question in Criminal Law in Illinois
bar brawl
My daughter got in a fight with ex-husbands girlfriend....
The girlfriend has been harassing my daughter on the phone when she drinks...and
a fight started at a local
establishment recently. The
girlfriend went to hit my daughter and my daughter punched her in the face....
Supposedly 2 days later the ex-husband is telling her a police report was filed which wasn't yet almost a week later
and also told us the next day
that she has a broken nose.
We can't beleve the drama...what
recourse does my daughter have
and can they pursue this?

Re: bar brawl
Hello. It may be too late for your daughter to
file a police report against your ex-husband's girlfriend, but she may want to file a lawsuit later. At this time there probably is nothing she can do, but wait to see if the State's Attorney will bring charges. She should have a lawyer in place, if this should happen. Will be happy to answer any additional questions you may have.
