Legal Question in Criminal Law in Illinois
Battery Assault?
A friend of mine hit a guy outside a bar tonight and then left the scene. He was told they went to his house to look for him. What should he do? What is the worse case scenario

Re: Battery Assault?
A charge of battery on a public way is aggravated battery, a class 2 felony, which carries with it a sentence of 3 to 5 years in prison. The chances are, though, he will be charged with misdomeanor battery, which carries with it a sentence of up to 364 days in county jail. Have him call an experienced criminal defense lawyer immediately.
