Legal Question in Criminal Law in Illinois

Battery Issue...

Hi.

I am currently on a $10,000 individual recognizance bond for a charge of battery in Cook County Illinois. This charge results from kissing a 19 year old woman's hand in Dominick's. She was the florist and I wanted to express my gratitude for the lovely bouquet she made for my girlfriend.

I was never provided with any motions or any court paperwork of any kind at my mailing address. I never saw my case file until I was on the stand. Most of the legal forms associated with this case are unsigned by a judge. I have been to court 4 times now in Cook County and even though the plaintiff has never appeared the case continues to be continued.

I want this thing dismissed for lack of merit and I don't want to have to pay any court costs. I obviously need to get my I-Bond vacated and want no further crap from the plaintiff. Considering a counter suit against Dominick's for hiring a lunatic and donating any proceeds to charity. Any advice appreciated.

Thanks,

Mike

Mike,

Please stop trying to practice "self-dentistry". You need to retain an attorney. If you cannot afford one, advise the court of such to have a public defender appointed.

Re: Battery Issue...

My advice to you is to hire a lawyer. You are facing a Class A misdomeanor which carries up to 365 days in Cook County Jail, and/or $2,500.00, fine. You want the case dropped for lack of merit. However, any unwanted touching is a battery. A lawyer would know how to handle such a matter. You can't "counter-sue" Dominick's in a criminal case. Again, a lawyer would know how to handle such a matter. Please call for a free consultation.
