Legal Question in Criminal Law in Illinois
bewildered female
i was arrested and charged with theft cntrl int
300/ bad check 1st off and my husband posted 115.00 10 percent of my bail and now i have a court date for february 15 2007 and i am not sure if i should go to court alone or call and request for a public defender could i get your advice on this

Since you posted bail, you are not entitled to a public defender. Public defenders are for indigent people, not those who don't want to pay a lawyer. If you were not released on bail you could then get a PUBLIC defender.
