Legal Question in Criminal Law in Illinois
bond posted, plead guilty, sentencing in 3 months then arrested again
I cannot seem to find a concrete answer to this question. A friend of mine was arrested for DUI, Illinois. Bond was posted $5,000. Had to take a Plea Bargain because she was told it would make the Judge mad if she wanted a Trial. Sentencing is not for another 4 months, but now she was arrested, (NOT DUI) but driving without a valid license. On the current new charge, will they revoke the first Bond (in another County) on her court date and take her into custody immediately?

Re: bond posted, plead guilty, sentencing in 3 months then arrested again
The chances of her bond being revoked is very high. Besides, if she is convicted of driving on a suspended license because of a DUI, she's facing a minimum of 10 days in jail. I have never heard anything so dumb as her lawyer telling her she had to plead guilty because if she exercised her right to trial the judge will be mad. It sounds to me like she hired a lazy lawyer. If it's the public defender, she got what she paid for. Nothing.
