Legal Question in Criminal Law in Illinois
I let my ex boyfriend borrow an accordion that has been in my family for about 10years. My sister was there at the time I lent it to him. I even made it clear that I needed it back because it was my familys.he said that he just wanted to borrow it for his band. We broke up in may of 2008. We both went back and forth on days that we could get our things back but ended up not doing so until may of 2009. I have 3witnesses that took me to his house and saw that I returned his things. He didn't return anything of mine. Because we were in a hurry I told him that I would need it soon and I would message/call him about it later that week. I messages him multiple times and got no response. He denied having anyhitng of mine, but when I told him I was taking him to court, he said that my things were at someone elses house and he just had to pick them up. That was about a month ago and now he's not responding again. It's Been enough time and I just want my familys accordion back.

If it is worth less than $10,000, you could sue him in small claims.
