Legal Question in Criminal Law in Illinois
Breaking and entering
I have just purchased a home. My stepson has been told he is not allowed in. I caught him and several other people in the house without my permission. The city police will not do anything about it. There was alcohol involved on there part. Is there being in the residence without my permission illegal????

Re: Breaking and entering
How old is your step son? Did your spouse give permission? Does your spouse live at the home? There are quite a few issues that may have affected the police involvement.
Depending on the age of everyone involved, I think you should consider mediation to figure out how to deal with these issues. If that is something you are interested in, please feel free to give us a call.
