Legal Question in Criminal Law in Illinois

I let a buddy use my car to run to the store he was in the store and there was a couple fighting and they left a cell phone on the counter my buddy took the phone and attempted to give it back and ended up breaking up a fight in the parking lot and the female told him to keep the phone and that her boyfreind didnt deserve it. so three weeks later I have a detective running around questioning my family and freinds about my whearabouts saying there is a warrant for my arrest and that he has me on camera taking a phone from the counter at wallgreens its not me obviously , and my buddy ended up just giving the phone away to some stranger it was an I-phone or something. What are my options?

1. Get your friend to turn himself in and clear you.

2. If he won't, hire an attorney.
