Legal Question in Criminal Law in Illinois

calling in a fake perscription

Hi, my daughter called in a fake perscription for herself at a local pharmacy, although she is a nurse and works for a doctors office, she was not authorized to do this, so she used another doctors name and used a fake nurses name, and ordered the persciption for tramadol, which is a mild pain killer. Her husband went to pick up the perscription, unaware of what she did to obtain it, he was taken into custody at the pharmacy, then released and not charged , the police called my daughter at home and told her thatshe has until monday to turn herself in, he said the states attorney would decide what to charge her with, she lives in mchenry county, but the pharmacy was in lake county. What will she be charged with, and is she facing any jail time. She's never done anything like this before. She suffers from severe back problems for nine years and has to have these pills, she was desperate and made a mistake, she got carried away with her status as a nurse, and did this spur of the moment. She just graduated with honors from nursing school, will this ruin her career now? Thank you

Re: calling in a fake perscription

Your daughter needs a lawyer ASAP. I don't know what she'd be charged with, but there's always the possibility of jail time. Whatever the charges (forgery could be one of the charges) it will be a felony. That would seriously ruin your daughter's career as a nurse. Please call a lawyer today.
