Legal Question in Criminal Law in Illinois
car accident
I got into a car accident and received a ticket for (improper lane usage). I was driving north-bound in the right lane with a silverado pickup truck (with a trailor attached to it) also in the right lane, also going north. I was about 2 car lengths behind him. He moved over into the left lane and seemed to slow up a little bit. I continued north and caught up to him. My front bumper was aligned with the back on his trailor.(we were in opposite lanes now) He suddenly made a right turn from the left lane. I slammed on my brakes and tried to avoid him. I ended up hitting him and my car is a wreck. I feel innocent in this situation. I don't understand how that is improper lane usage. Could you please tell me what my options are. Could i get out of this ticket in court? What are my odds of winning? Any advice would be appreciated.
thanks
