Legal Question in Criminal Law in Illinois
Charged with misdemeanor
My son (18) has been charged with two misdemeanors - theft and trespassing. He was with a few friends that decided to take a case of beer from a garage. He was driving the car. As the kids ran back to the car the homeowner ran after them and got the license plate and came to our home. He wouldn't give his friends names to the police and they've charged him with these misdemeanors and have set a court date. What are his options?

Re: Charged with misdemeanor
Your son definitely needs to have an attorney represent him on these charges. Convictions can have serious and long-lasting negative consequences for him, and may be avoided with proper handling. Good luck.
