Legal Question in Criminal Law in Illinois

class X felonies

what are the options for a 17 year old with no priors/arrests who's being charged with 3 class X felonies, selling within 1000 feet of a church. What are the required steps need to have those charges dropped down to a class 1,2 or 3. Is drug court a better option with more promising results? or Is boot camp still an option.

Re: class X felonies

You have a very serious problem: three Class X felony charges. Boot camp is only an option if the sentence is 8 years or less, and the charge reduced to a Class 1. The chance of getting the charges reduced to a lesser class is going to be difficult. Please call for a consultation.

Do you have an attorney representing you. If not, you should. If so, then ask your attorney all of these questions. In many cases it is possible to negotiate a plea bargain which might include a reduction in charges or even placement in "bootcamp". But, without knowing even the most basic information (what jurisdiction are you in?), it would be impossible to provide you with very much specific advice or information. If you do not already have an attorney, you may contact me.
