Legal Question in Criminal Law in Illinois
How close can an officer of the law come to my vehicle if I am legally parked and not acting suspicious? Are they allowed to literally poke their face within an inch of my vehicle or is there a certain invisible line they are not allowed to cross? A foot perhaps? All answers are greatly appreciated :)

If you are in public there is no general expectation of privacy. Next time you should ask the officer why though. You never know - there could be a good reason.
