Legal Question in Criminal Law in Illinois
court supervision discharged??
I was charged with a misdemeanor in 1/2005 and received court supervision for 1 year. After that year was the court supervision discharged automatically or was I supposed to go back in front of the court to get it discharged? I didn't. The reason I'm asking is want to get it expunged and supervision has to be discharged for 2 years before it is eligible. I have not been any any trouble since then.

Re: court supervision discharged??
As long as you did not have any new offenses and your original court order did not require your return to court, the supervision will discharge by operation of law. You might want to go to the clerk's office and check the original court file to make sure a discharge order was entered. For information about expungement, please visit:
