You need to discuss this with your lawyer. Sentencing is determined based on factors in aggravation and mitigation

You need to get your parents, or your friends, or whoever you can to loan you enough money to hire the very best criminal defense lawyer possible. Just so you get an idea, I have been practicing criminal defense law for thirty years and I would require a $5000.00 retainer to begin with, if your case was pending in one of the counties I usually serve. IF I had to travel very much, it would be a larger retainer fee. Many attorneys will require $10,000 or more up front on a case like yours. I hope that you are able to follow my advice and hire an attorney. Good luck.

There are a number of issues involved in determining a sentence. Your age is one thing to consider, whether the other party was injured, and if so was it serious? There are possibilities that include probation as well, which would mean no time in prison if you complete the probation successfully. There are also alternative sentences including boot camp that can cut a six year sentence to 3 or 4 months. There are a whole range of possibilities, which all assume that you are guilty. There is the possibility of a trial at which you may not be convicted. You should truly talk with a lawyer and soon. Feel free to contact our office for a free consultation.
