Legal Question in Criminal Law in Illinois
Criminal Sentencing
My 22 year-old nephew got into a fight while at a person's house and was convicted in Illinois in 2004 of ''home invasion/cause injury''. For this he was sentenced to 25 years, of which he must serve 12. He's eligible to be parolled in 2016.
My question - what can our family do to get him parolled before his set parole date? 12 years is a long time.

Re: Criminal Sentencing
Without knowing what he was actually convicted of and what enhancements might apply I couldn't speculate as to whether there is any slack in his parole date.
