Legal Question in Criminal Law in Illinois
Disorderly Combat
I was arrested for disordely conduct (mutual combat) there was nothing mutual about it i was asking people to leave my house and they wouldnt leave. Then one of the persons started to hit me and take me to the ground. At which time the police arrested us and didnt even ask my side of the story. Is there a defense for this and how can i obtain a police report of the incident?

Re: Disorderly Combat
Hello. In my opinion your legal defense to this charge is the fact that you were physically defending yourself against an attack in your home. I definitely think that it is in your best interest to get a lawyer.
In most jurisdictions you can get a police report within a week at the central police station where you live by providing your name along with the date and location of the incident.
However, I suggests that you let a lawyer do this since you have been charged with this. I would be happy to discuss this issue with you further.
Re: Disorderly Combat
If both of you were arrested, then the charges against both of you will be dropped. It would be a conflict of interest for the states attorney to prosecute both of you against the other for the same offense.
