Re: exspongement of forgery
Under Illinois law, convictions can NOT be expunged. Depending on whether you were convicted of a felony or not, you may want to consider sealing the conviction to allow you to obtain employment. However, it is my understanding that a forgery conviction is a felony, as such, your conviction will also not qualify to be sealed through the court system unless you receive a pardon which specifically authorizes or allows you to obtain an expungement. You must contact the Prisoner Review Board to obtain information on petitioning for a pardon. Good luck.
