Re: extradiction of a misdemeanor

Usually a state won't extadite for a misdomeaner, but it can cause you lots of aggravation. If you're stopped for a traffic violation you could get arrested on the warrant, and spend as much as 30 days in jail to learn that Illinois isn't extaditing you. Your best course of action is to hire a lawyer and get the case taken care of.

Re: extradiction of a misdemeanor

Yes, but it would be very unusaul for Illinois to extradite someone for a misdemeanor. The state does usually only extradite people for serious felony cases. The law allows for extradition on all criminal matters, but as a practical matter it is expensive to extradite. However, you may have a warrant for your arrest in the interstate system. If this pops up during any encounter with the police, it may cause you significant inconvenience. You should contact an attorney in Illinois.
