Legal Question in Criminal Law in Illinois
Using a false address
If my ex sent me a letter using a return address of a home he does not/has not ever lived in, and without the permission of the current resident, who does not know him, can he get into trouble? He wanted me to believe that he had moved into a nice home in a nice area, and used an address of an older couple that has no idea who he is! I am just curious if there is something legally that can be done about this?

Re: Using a false address
Depends on his purpose for sending the letter. On the outside, a person who commits fraud using the mail can run into some nasty criminal charges. More than likely, this case probably isn't going to get him trouble.
