Legal Question in Criminal Law in Illinois

felony charge

I recently started working for this company. Two weeks on the job- I was terminated because of a felony charge from 1996. The charge was amended from a felony to a misdemeanor. How can I proved my charge was amended to a lower charge?

Re: felony charge

Hello. I suggests that you contact the official

court reporter for the county where the court is

and get a transcript of the court proceedings.

Hopefully there was a court reporter in the court

room when the charge was lowered from a felony to

a misdemeanor. I would then get a copy of the

"half sheet" from the court file. The clerk of the Circuit Court in the county where the court is can help you with this. Also, the misdemeanor needs to be expunged assuming this

happened over 2 years ago. I will be happy to

answer any additional questions you might have.
