Legal Question in Criminal Law in Illinois
My fiance was recently arrested and we were exploring bond options. I own a property, therefore the discussion of a property bond was brought up. Prior to speaking with his attorney, I wanted to get more information about a property bond on my own before talking to his lawyer. Placing my property as a bond is an option, but its definitely something I've worked hard to get and maintain. What questions should I ask his lawyer? How do property bonds work in my state? Should I retain a lawyer for myself?

Posting property as bond is an option in Illinois and is outlined in the statutes. The equity in the property must be worth two times that amount of the bond and you will need to complete an affidavit. Please review the statute for the specific requirements or call me to discuss.
