Legal Question in Criminal Law in Illinois

Forest Preserve Ticket

I was visiting my family from out of town (I live 1500 miles away) and was caught after hours in a Forest Preserve. The cop didn't give us a fine but a court date. I can't get back for the court date can a family member stand in for me?

No, no one can "stand in" for you except a lawyer. You may contact the court and ask if you can appear by telephone or by filing a written form if you don't have a lawyer. Not having a lawyer will probably insure you will end up with a fine to pay.
