Legal Question in Criminal Law in Illinois

Harassment

My ex-boyfriend has issued an order of protection against me for stalking an harassment, mostly because he is paranoid. I have never done anything violent (including yelling) to him, his family, or his property. He saw me in the library in our town and thought I was following him. I went to his house once and he didn't answer the door. He called his mother who called the police. They said they couldn't do anything to me because I didn't do anything. I had a lot of stuff with me and put it all down so then I had to pick it back up and the police got there before I was gone. How much of a chance is there that the order will be gramted?

P.S. Although I chose ''Criminal Law,'' this case will be heard as petitioner and respondant not plantiff and defandant.

Re: Harassment

There is a burden of proof on him to convince the judge that you are harassing him to the level that an order of protection is required.
