Legal Question in Criminal Law in Illinois
Home Daycare Licensing
I am attempting to become licensed in the state of Illinois as a home daycare provider. In 1990 I was convicted of theft under $300.00. The case was to be expunged after I completed a 12 month probation. Will this keep me from being licensed? How can I have this removed from my record?

Re: Home Daycare Licensing
Hello! That should not affect
your ability to obtain a
license. However, you need
to get that expunged. Go
to the office of the Clerk
of the Court where you live
and ask for an expungement
form. You probably will
need help filling the form
out to list all the specifics
about the earlier conviction.
I would do this as soon as
possible!
