Legal Question in Criminal Law in Illinois
My husband is currently incarcerated at cook county jail. he is being charged with a class 1 residential burglary. He has been incarcerated since August 21st, 09. My question is what are his options as far as his trial goes...his bond is set at $75,000 so he is sitting. I have not hired a lawyer yet because i have not found the right one. Is there any way to get rid of this charge? He was drunk when he committed this crime and i know the only way residential burglary is probational is through the alcohol and other drug abuse act. What about electronic monitoring? I would just like to know his options before I hire a lawyer.

You need to hire an attorney anyway.
For a felony of this nature I would urge you to retain counsel.
