Legal Question in Criminal Law in Illinois

My husband recently left me for a woman who has no legal authorization to be in this country. He admits she is the reason he left our relationship.

About 4 weeks ago I posted comments on some of her facebook pictures saying things like "whore". I also emailed her boss saying that is was a shame that donors pay the salary of a woman who spends her afternoons in bars trying to fuck my husband.

Since that one evening, I have not done any of those things again. 2 days ago she messaged me saying that I had to call her or she would have me arrested. I told her we had nothing to talk about. She said she would see me in court.

While I realize my actions make me look pretty bad, are they a valid reason to get arrested?

Hello. My answer is based upon the information posted by you on this website. In my opinion, there is no basis for you being arrested. However, if this woman brings false criminal charges against you which result in your arrest, you should remain silent and not sign any statements. I suggests that you retain an attorney in the event you wish to file for divorce or legal separation from your husband. There are additional comments and suggestions that I can make.
