Legal Question in Criminal Law in Illinois

Illegal consuption

During a party I was in attendance at, located at UIS, the University Police came through the front door and asked if any one was underage, we all were (about 20 of us). Anyhow, the police took my personal info, and admistered a breathalyzer, in which I blew a .061, they told me I was free to go, and they would send my info to the State Attorney and they may pick it up from there. My question is, if I recieve supervision, will the charge drop off my record upon completion?? How serious is this charge??

Re: Illegal consuption

If you are placed on Supervision for minor consumption, you will lose your driver's license. Also, if charged in state court (and it sounds like your case is going to state court rather than city court), minor consumption is a Class A misdemeanor, which is the highest level of misdemeanor.

If your supervision is completed successfully, it will not automatically go away. You must file for expungement for it to disappear. With supervision, you don't have a conviction on your record (as a matter of law) but there is still a paper trail present.
