insufficient/ieffective counsel
if my previous p.d. was convicted of a crime he commited during my case can i get something done and if so what could it be ?

It sort of depends on what the crime was and if it had anything to do with your case. There is, unfortunately, a fairly tough threshold to get your case overturned for ineffective counsel once it has already been decided. Nonetheless, I recommend speaking with the public defender's office to ask if they are willing to represent you on a motion to have the verdict withdrawn or on an appeal.
You could also conceivably file suit against the public defender's office for malpractice, but I don't know how far you would get on that one.
