A class 2 felony carries a possible penalty of up to 7 years in prison. Depending upon the facts of the case, given your age and clean record there might be a chance to negotiate a reducer to a lower charge. You really need to have a lawyer. Obviously you need to hire the very best criminal defense lawyer you can afford. Your attorney can advise you specifically as to the range of punishment you are facing or will be facing, and can also determine whether you should consider entering into a plea bargain. If so, the attorney can negotiate with the state's attorney to get the very best deal for you, and if there is a defense to the charge, the attorney can go to trial. This is not something that you should even consider handling on your own. Good luck.

A Class 2 felony is punishable by 3 to 7 years in prison. You could also receive a probation sentence of up to 4 years. A felony conviction will haunt you for the rest of your life. Contact a criminal-defense lawyer in your area!
