What kind of justice do you want? a criminal conviction or a money judgment?
Re: Want justice
I assume you are saying your son's father was killed by another person, correct? Murdered? Or was he killed by an accident at work or on the road, etc.?
The state will prosecute violent killings, however your son would also have a right to file a wrongful death civil lawsuit for the loss of his father, for which he may be able to obtain money damages against the person(s) who killed his dad.
