Legal Question in Criminal Law in Illinois
Can law enforcement seize items not on the search warrant? There are stating that i had stolen items on my property, they let the victims( 3 guys that had items stolen) walk through my garage and look at everything it was at that time the victims supposedly identified tools/ equipment that was theirs. Then the police took down the victims information on the items they thought was theirs to put on the search warrant. Can they do that?

It depends on a lot of factors, why they were there n the first place, where the items were located, generally the answer is no.
