Can you be sued for libel/slander for making a complaint to the police about a person who was harrasing and staling you,

Falsely accusing someone of a criminal offense is defamation per se. In other words, the aggrieved need not show economic loss due to the nature of the defamatory statement. However, truth is an absolute defense to any defamation lawsuit.
