Legal Question in Criminal Law in Illinois

Limitations on being arrested for a crime

I am currently in the process of writing a book about events that took place between 1990 and 1996 in my life and the lives of my high school and college friends. During that time several laws were broken by numerous individuals (selling some weed, drinking underage, vandalism, fights, breaking into a clubhouse and stealing snacks, even a stolen car). I am wondering what the time limitation is on arresting someone for these crimes. The last thing I want to do is publish this book and get my friends who have went on to have very successful careers in a variety of professions have their lives ruined. Is it possible that they could be arrested because of the content of my book?

Crimes have statutes of limitations but each are individual. Check the Illinois Compiled Statutes
