Legal Question in Criminal Law in Illinois

My live in boyfriend got arrested Sat night for domestic battery. I am not pressing charges, alcohol was involved and the sistuation esscalated into something that should not have happened. He is still in jail with no bond and i need to know what i can do to help him.

The cold hard truth is that they may (and often do) prosecute irregardless of what you want. In Illinois, so many women recant DV cases, that special procedures are used to convict, EVEN IF YOU CHOOSE NOT TO PARTICIPATE. Yes it does happen, often.

The only thing that'll help him at this stage is a lawyer.
