Legal Question in Criminal Law in Illinois

How long does st.attoney have to provide my son with a discovery on his case?

My son has been in jail for about 3wks. They are holding him on meth conspiracy. I have spoke with st. att. he says it is because he bought 1 box of sudafed. The judge signed the arraignment papers for the discovery to done by may 9 on the 11 they delivered him papers only his name is no where near them. If the judge ordered them to be done on the 9th & it is now the 14th & he still has nothing on him is this legal?

You should discuss any discovery issues with the lawyer representing your son. Discovery in a felony case will be tendered to the defendant's lawyer, so I do not know what papers were delivered to your son.
