Legal Question in Criminal Law in Illinois

mental health and law

I am in a situation and

was wondering if you would be able to help me and perhaps answer a few

questions I have.

I have Dissociative Identity Disorder which causes other alter

personalities to take over and control my actions. I have no

recollection of the time they spend out and I don't know what had

happened while they were out.

A few weeks ago one of my alters filled one of my roommate's

prescriptions (a narcotic painkiller) and overdosed on it. I woke up

in the emergency room and had no idea what happened. The staff had to

tell me what happened and I had no clue how I ended up in the ER. I

then spent a week in the hospital.

My roommate got notification from the pharmacy that her prescription

was ready for pickup. She called the police because she never filled

it. She then found out it what happened.

Now the police are involved and I don't know what to do. Would you be

able to help me. What are my rights? Is it possible there is a

warrant out for me? How can I defend myself if I don't know what

happened in the first place. What charges can I be facing and what type of punishment if convicted
