Legal Question in Criminal Law in Illinois
I am a middle-class 50-yr old woman who was caught sealing a 6-pack of beer and and a large ale. I was taken into the jail and left there for 6 hours while I was cleared.
The police told me, this would dismissed and I might not even have fees to pay.
I am still scared and don't want anyone in my life, including my husband know what happened.
The cops swore the advice they were giving me was true. However, there is a small twist, I have taken other small items, $1.00 from this same place. I don't why do this at this one place. I have the money to pay for the small pieces. BIG QUESTION? Can the police bring in past tape they didn't have when they arrested me? For example, the camera shows me 6- months ago taking a piece of cake. Can they use this at trial. Also, is there anyway to talk to them before trial and arrange an alternate solution.
I will check this spot for a few days and see what you have to see and from there call you or email. Also, we don't have a ton of money, so how much would the legal fees be? Where' s much more and this is getting lengthy. Please advise.
