Legal Question in Criminal Law in Illinois

Military service and effects on criminal records

When I was 18 i was charged with 1. Possesion of drug paraphanielia (pot pipe) and 2. illegal possesion of alcohol. I have since served 4 years in the Marines and have been honarably discharged. I am wondering if this would have had any impact on my criminal record, the previous mentioned offenses are my only ones. I am wondering this because if my service has sealed these records or taking them off my record it would be nice not to have to mention this on any resumes seeing as this is always a bad thing to include.

Typically you would need to get these expunged. You can go to the circuit clerk in the county where you were charged to see if they still show up. I would be happy to discuss this further with you. My website is www.getgramm.com. My phone number is 309-275-6677.

Your honorable military service has no impact on your criminal record. But, being charged and convicted are not the same. You may be able to have the arrests expunged and or sealed. Call me to discuss.
