Legal Question in Criminal Law in Illinois

misdimeanor

Back in 1999 I was arrested for a class A misdimeanor. It is the only time I have ever been in trouble. I received 1 year probation and have to through some counseling. I lost my job a year and a half a go and have been having trouble finding another. I believe the problem is the misdimeanor. Is there a time limit when it will not show up on a job search? The misdimeanor was for an assualt and battery charge.

Re: misdimeanor

If you were a first offender, then you should have ben sentenced to supervision. Then you could expunge the record. Now you have to petition the court to seal your record. Please call for a free consultation.
