Legal Question in Criminal Law in Illinois

Misdimeanor Retail Theft.

I am 20 year old college student. I worked for matel. I was accused of removing merchandise from the store and giving money away in the form of credits onto people s credit dards. I was told by the security manager that if I were to sign a confession It would be handled within the company, and I would simply get a writen warning. I signed the confession and was shortly afterward arrested. I only signed the confession because he said I would not loose my job and simply be disciplined in the company. I did not want to loose my job so I did it. I also have no money and do not know were I can go from here. I wanted to know if it all possible, could i see the evidence the prosecution has against me and see police records, is it possible to see any of that without a lawyer?

Hello. I suggests you get an attorney. An attorney representing you should attempt to get

your confession thrown out. However, my answer

is "yes" you do have a right to see evidence, but

because you are representing yourself, the prosecutor will probably take his time letting you see it. I will be happy to answer any more
