Legal Question in Criminal Law in Illinois
I was just notified that I have a warrant out for my arrest for stealing gas numerous times. What would be the best plan of action for me to take?

First of all, you should hire an attorney before you are arrested if at all possible. Obviously it will be easier for you to do so before you are taken into custody. The attorney can determine all of the facts regarding any warrants, and can often make arrangements ahead of time that will enable you to have the warrant(s) recalled and vacated. In other cases, the attorney can make arrangements that will make it much easier and much quicker for you to be processed and released pending the handling of the criminal charges. I have handled various similar cases, and I might be able to help you with this myself if you do not already have an attorney. Please feel free to call me for a free telephone consulation.
I agree with Mr. Nack, that you should hire an attorney who can represent you in the process of turning yourself in on the warrant. Call an attorney in the county in which the warrant was issued.
Hire an attonrey and turn yourself in.
Running from the problem will not sove it.
